By including Communities In Schools in your estate plans, you leave a legacy that will affect sustainable change in the lives of underserved students across the country for years to come.

Plan Your Legacy Today

To help you get started on your plans and legacy, we’ve partnered with FreeWill, an online tool that guides you through the process of creating your legally valid will or trust, at no cost. It’s easy to use, accessible online and can be completed in 20 minutes. You can use this resource on its own or use it to document your wishes before finalizing your plans with an attorney.

To include CIS in your current estate plans, please reference the below sample bequest language that uses our legal name Communities In Schools, Inc. and federal tax identification number 58-1289174.

I bequeath [the sum of $ ____ ] [an amount equal to ____% of the net value of my estate] [a specific asset or collection of assets such as securities, real estate, or tangible personal property] [all the rest, residue and remainder of my estate] to Communities In Schools, Inc. (Tax Identification # 58-1289174), a non-profit organization headquartered in Arlington, Virginia.

Retirement Plan Assets and Investments

Do you have an IRA, 401(k), life insurance policy, or any other assets not included in your will? If so, these are called non-probate assets, and you must plan your beneficiaries separately. Use this online tool to make your plans and designate CIS as a beneficiary of one or more of these assets.
